System Administrator

Payer Compass is seeking a System Administrator who has a minimum of 3 years of experience with information security servers, workstations, and software.

Department: IT Location: Plano, TX, or Remote

Basic Functions:

Payer Compass is a trusted source for health plans and providers to manage their claim flows.  Our proprietary platform is a multi-faceted healthcare claim reimbursement platform consisting of health plan contract management, auditing and reporting, healthcare plan/claim modeling, and healthcare claim pricing/repricing.

  • Maintaining virtual infrastructure which includes Windows OS, Centos and RHEL
  • Monitor our antimalware, IDS and IPS solutions
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel
  • Prepare workstations and laptops
  • Patch and monitor systems on a routine basis
  • Verify functionality of hardware and software components
  • Monitor and analyze our data center assets and alerts
  • Installing new hardware.  Switches, servers and similar devices.
  • Participate in daily meetings
  • Providing policy recommendations
  • Analyzing and establishing security requirements
  • Collecting or implementing security requirements for HItrust and SOC audits
  • Minor support role for end-users (pc support)

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Information Technology experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in the server administrations and deployment
  • 3+ years of experience with information security

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Ability to monitor and protect systems from unauthorized access, using Darktrace, Alert Logic MDR, Palo Alto Cortex
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 – 2019, Centos RHEL
  • Working knowledge of Windows Hyper V and clustering
  • Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Switches, Palo Alto firewalls
  • Able to plan strategies to maintain system security on servers and network devices
  • Flexible after hours to assist with business emergencies
  • Willingness to learn new applications and systems that will support the business growth
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects at the same time
  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory
  • Microsoft MCSA Certification – Windows 10, Windows Server 2012-2019, Core Infrastructure, Mobility
  • CCNA certification with a solid understanding of layer 2 and 3 network concepts
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex problems
  • Team-oriented attitude to help colleagues resolve technical issues
  • Working knowledge of network monitoring tools and the protocols used.  SNMP, WMI, PING, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, NETFLOW.
  • Palo Alto Networks Security Engineer certification
  • Red Hat S/ystem Administration (RH134)
  • Microsoft MCSE Certification – Core Infrastructure, Mobility
  • PalAdministering Microsoft SQL database infrastructure
  • Microsoft MCSA DevOps Engineer Expertise
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
