Quality Assurance Engineer

Payer Compass is looking to fill a Quality Assurance Engineer position in Plano, TX

Department: R&D Location: Plano, TX

Basic Functions:

The primary responsibilities of the QA Engineer inside the Payer Compass R&D team involve design, development and execution of system tests covering a number of Payer Compass healthcare revenue cycle management products. The position will be heavily focused on automation of manual processes, data validation and development of testcases. The QA engineer will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including:

  • Collaborate with analysts in gathering requirements and test case design to ensure adequate coverage for new feature development
  • Work with software developers to facilitate a clear understanding of acceptance criteria and QA expectations
  • Create testcases that will be executed automatically as part of CI pipelines
  • Perform manual testing of work that’s not deemed possible or important to automate
  • Automate system regression execution and regression data collection

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience doing manual software quality assurance
  • Minimum 2 years experience doing automated quality assurance
  • Experience in testing cloud native products
  • Experience with software development using Agile methodologies
  • Experience with requirements gathering from project stakeholders
  • BA/BS in Computer Science preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft IDE’s such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and tools (Selenium, Nunit, Xunit etc)
  • Good understanding of relational databases in general and Microsoft SQL Server specifically.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft IDE’s such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Working knowledge of Git based version control systems
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Openness to change and new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Focus on continual quality improvement
  • Excellent problem solving skills
