IT Support Technician

Payer Compass is looking to fill an IT Support Technician position in Plano, TX

Department: IT Location: Plano, TX

Basic Functions:

We are seeking an individual who has experience with supporting users workstations, servers and software within our company. The position will be heavily focused on daily operations and systems support to personnel in person, remotely and via phone. This individual will also monitor and provide analysis on datacenter assets and systems securities, including antivirus monitoring and maintenance.

Education and Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in the technical support role with Windows desktop and server experience
  • Microsoft MCSA Certification – Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Office 365
  • Preferred Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Information Technology experience
  • Preferred CCNA Certification
  • Preferred Microsoft MCSE Certification – Core Infrastructure, Mobility

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware and applications.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 – 2016, Office 365, Linux
  • Working technical understanding of IT security
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex problems
  • Team oriented attitude to help colleagues resolve technical issues
  • Flexible after hours to assist with business emergencies
  • Willingness to learn new applications and systems that will support the business growth
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects at the same time
  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory
  • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network concepts
  • Familiar with switches, routers and firewalls, primarily with Cisco, Dell, Aruba and Palo Alto
  • Familiar with server and network monitoring tools and the protocols used. SNMP, WMI, PING, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, NETFLOW
