Our Story

Who We Are

Payer Compass is the name that represents our company, but who we are is what really defines us. We are innovators, developers, risk takers, advocates, problem solvers, detectives, caregivers, all working toward the same goal: achieving better care at a better price. We are the trusted source both for health plans and providers to manage their claim flows.

On the Pursuit of Better Price. Better Care.

Our journey began with the purchase of the technology assets of Chart-Tech, Inc. in April 2013, providing the foundation for Payer Compass’s VISIUM™ and BENCHMARK tools. Heeding market trends and our clients’ frustrations of piece-milling needed services, we sought out a partner who delivered high-touch, proven Patient Advocacy and Care Management services for plan members and their employers. By April 2015, Innovative Medical Risk Management, now known as CareValent, was folded into our team. Further pursuit to change the course of healthcare value and availability brought us to purchase Avedon Systems. Integrating Avedon’s capabilities yields an unprecedented opportunity to culminate all plan member data - Care Management services and Patient Advocacy efforts - with pricing data to deliver a TRUE COST OF CARE. With our sights set on the future of healthcare and the movement to value-based payment models, we are poised and ready to take it on with you.

What Sets Us Apart

Align your business with the trailblazer of innovative reimbursement solutions. We offer single-source, comprehensive solutions to keep you focused on your overall business initiatives. Along these same lines, we keep our resources in-house, from our proprietary software platform to our dedicated compliance and CMS regulatory team, to our URAC-accredited programs supported by Certified Registered Nurse Case Managers and our dedicated Patient Advocates. Sole ownership of these elements allows us to be nimble, flexible and responsive to our clients and their needs. We realize that problems can’t be solved alone. It is clear that payers, providers and solution-providers, such as ourselves, have to work together to fix a system that is so clearly broken. We are constantly cultivating and nurturing relationships with our clients, industry partners and even non-clients with the purpose of sharing ideas, educating and collaborating.
