As an employer and employee with more than 25 years in the managed care and healthcare software industries, he identifies personally with the challenges faced by his clients and their plan members. Of utmost importance to him is the collaboration with employers and hospitals to deliver quality care at a fair price and the ripple-effect of benefits for all involved. Greg is focused on charting a path for better price and better care through thought leadership, innovation and collaboration with like-minded people. When he’s not wearing his reimbursement cape, you can find him on the beach with a cool drink in hand.

Considered by many to be the “technology brainchild” behind Payer Compass, Roman’s wide-ranging skill set, which includes strategic planning, systems design and implementation, and financial modeling and repricing, has made him an expert in health information technology. Combine Roman’s belief that efficient healthcare should be affordable and accessible with his proven track record of delivering hosted and integrated systems for large healthcare providers, TPAs and Fortune 100 payers, and you’ll see how he serves as a cornerstone to Payer Compass’s mission of reducing the cost of healthcare reimbursement. Fueled by craft coffee and operating at the speed of European sports cars, his passion, Roman’s ongoing contributions to the design and capabilities of the VISIUM™ platform directly increase the value Payer Compass offers its clients and prospects.
Chief Operating Officer
With nearly 20 years of technical and operational experience in healthcare software, Rick brings to the table a mile-long list of skills to successfully captain the everyday and milestone actions to achieve our vision and that of our clients. His thoughtful, holistic approach allows him to balance vision, execution, financial strength and efficiency across the organization. Prior to Payer Compass, Rick played a critical, strategic role in high-growth solution offerings focused on population health and served as a leader of product management and development for B2B and payer technologies. His prior contributions to the operationalizing of the PROMETHEUS Payment ® bundle pricing algorithms have carried over to Payer Compass, enhancing current reimbursement solutions. Although he’s from Louisiana, and naturally a New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers fan, Rick makes a pretty good Texan.
Chief Revenue Officer
With more than 20 years in healthcare technology, Slayton has worked to change the healthcare landscape. He brings to Payer Compass the skills required to develop and execute all revenue-generating strategies that will continue the growth of the company by building relationships with new and existing clients. His proven track record for success and belief in the importance of teamwork allow him to oversee Sales and Marketing, and to ensure that both teams work cohesively toward company strategy and revenue goals. Slayton’s calm, cool, and collected personality coupled with his deep understanding and knowledge of the industry are his recipe for success. When he’s not in the office, Slayton enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and traveling with his favorite travel destination being Italy.

Matthew’s proven financial leadership keeps Payer Compass on track. His deep accounting expertise, coupled with a wealth of business acumen in the healthcare and technology sectors adds undeniable value to the company as we continue to expand our footprint. Using his broad financial skill set, which includes technical accounting, financial analysis, strategic planning, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and revenue generation strategy, he has established a reputation of reliance and success. As a 20-year veteran in finance, Matthew has held esteemed leadership and senior-level roles in financial management and corporate development. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas. Matthew is a proud Baylor Bear, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. When he’s not with his family or at work, he enjoys cycling, traveling or watching his favorite Dallas and Texas sports teams.

Long before Stan became Payer Compass’s Vice President of Research and Development, he was part of the initial development crew for our cornerstone technology platform, VISIUM™. He previously held the role of VP of Product Management for SICOM Systems, since acquired by Global Payments, the largest payments organization in the world. His deep knowledge and extensive history with VISIUM™ perfectly suits his role in overseeing the operation, design and quality assurance of our core technology. Stan’s contribution to Payer Compass’s overall product development is key as we position our organization for expanded growth. Stan is a world traveler with an appetite for adventure, visiting Russia, Europe and Asia and taking on hobbies such as motorcycle riding, race cars, rock climbing and skydiving.

Joyce is the voice of our reputable Patient Advocacy program. With vast experience in the communities of self-funding, fully-insured, group/individual products, and government programs, she is a keystone to our team. With a deep passion for people, Joyce and her team don’t stop at having “satisfied customers,” they strive to exceed and define new standards for customer service. Her commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for plan members is evident throughout her career path, serving in various co-founder, leadership, client services and product development roles. When combined, Joyce’s range of industry knowledge and business acumen give her a rare panoramic ability to identify and solve issues, keeping in mind the member, provider, care quality, program management and service level. Aside from her professional connections, she values her personal ones as much or more, spending time with family sailing and traveling overseas. Her extensive operational management experience in member/provider services, medical, quality, and program management and client services is invaluable to helping clients create accessible, affordable and high-quality healthcare for their communities.

Kellie ─ employee No. 3 at Payer Compass ─ translated her passion for relationship building into the Client Services model followed today by a team that shares her zeal for creating and maintaining relationships and providing exceptional service. Her versatility and established reputation to cultivate a credible, long-standing rapport with clients and partners led to the expansion of her responsibilities to include the oversight of strategy and direction of the company’s Sales team. Her leadership provides clients with the essential elements they need to create sound reimbursement strategies while making operations easy and effective. Kellie is a busy mother to three children who actively participate in sports and other activities and is a proud alumna of Texas A&M University - Gig ‘Em!
Ginger W. Barrientez
Director of Marketing
For two decades, and counting, Ginger has focused on marketing and lead generation strategy ─ specializing in brand development, brand equity and supporting business development through special events. She has spent much of her time in the healthcare industry, giving her the unique advantage to understand both the payer and provider markets, which helps to meet the current and future development goals of Payer Compass. Her role at the company has been vital to the rebranding of Payer Compass and CareValent, a Payer Compass Company, establishing a stronger, unified presence in the healthcare market space of better care at a fair price. Her driving force is her passion for learning and witnessing first-hand how strategic elements combine for effective execution. Ginger believes life is about experiences! She seeks to create memories professionally and personally through travel and cheering on her family in their school and outside activities.
Timothy Martin, JD, LL.M
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
One needs only a few, short minutes with Tim to sense his undeniable knack for healthcare-related operational program design, system architecture and all things related to the laws of this complex industry. His keen analytical abilities and extensive regulatory knowledge allow him to successfully manage the legal affairs of Payer Compass, along with advising on the company’s business processes and continued growth. Prior to Payer Compass, Tim’s contributions in the design and development of revenue cycle management systems earned industry awards and recognition. His years of working in the payor industry enhance Tim’s understanding of reimbursement, giving him a more panoramic view. Tim is a highly decorated and published scholar, earning his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, and Master of Laws degrees from SMU’s Dedman School of Law, with an emphasis in health and corporate law. In his spare time, Tim can be found cheering on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys or growing his collection of rare Green Bag Supreme Court Bobbleheads.
